Immigrants all over the country are being targeted for phone scams. Scammers pretend to be a USCIS official and call immigrants saying there is a problem with their immigration record and demand immediate payment to fix the problem. The victims are threatened with deportation if payment is not made immediately. Special software is used to imitate the USCIS 800 phone number. Please note that USCIS officials rarely call customers on the phone, and WILL NEVER ASK FOR PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE. If a payment is needed, USCIS will send a letter on official stationery requesting payment.

The 9th Annual Co-LEADS Student Summit

The Co-LEADS conference was established in 2009 by a group of individuals on the Auraria and DU campuses as a way to bridge discussions of leadership and social justice in a meaningful way. The Summit invites college students from across Colorado to join in discussions of social justice, activism, advocacy, and social change. Throughout the day students participate in a number of workshops that challenge, grow, and inspire them to make change in their own lives and their communities.

This year, the theme "Resist, Persist, and Sustain:  When to Light the Torch, and When to Pass It Along" will be explored.  The keynote and workshops will explore long-term activism, sustaining activism while avoiding burn-out, and recognizing when to pass the torch to fellow activists. The summit's keynote and breakout sessions will engage self-awareness, social systems, personal skills and collaborative action through this lens to spark participants into action in their communities.

  • You will NOT be charged a registration fee but online sign up is required. Please sign up no later than Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.
  • For more information about the conference, please visit the Co-LEADS Student Summit's website.
