Peers Advocate Leaders (PAL) Program

The Peer Advocate Leaders (PAL) Program promotes leadership for all students involved by matching undergraduate/graduate student leaders with first year, graduate and international students. The mentoring relationship is designed to foster student engagement and academic success by providing peer-level support that fosters student achievement, growth, and learning throughout students' academic career at the University of Colorado Denver.

Fall 2017 International Student Conference

This Fall 2017, the International Student Conference is offered to both new and current international students. Various activities will happen during the conference which mainly focus on essential topics for international students in Denver: navigate life essentials in the U.S., employment authorization and career search, cross-cultural communication and adjustment, academic success, campus and outdoor activities. Moreover, you will have access to many useful campus and community resources as well as meet new international friends.

This International Student Conference will be held over two days from 8.30 AM to 4.00 PM, primarily in the North Classroom.

  • Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 (for Undergraduate students)
  • Thursday, August 17th, 2017 (for Graduate students)

Fall 3-credit Writing and Speaking Courses for ESOL students

As part of supporting ESOL community, there are 3-credit classes offered through Extended Education, but the courses can count as electives during this Fall 2017 semester. The courses are taught by ESOL/ESL experts and were designed for non-native speakers or bilingual students to cultivate knowledge and skills in American academic English. These courses include: 

  • ENGL 1009: Academic Research and Writing for the Disciplines
  • COMM 4710/5710: Crafting Academic Speaking and Listening

To participate these courses, students will need to register via EXTENDED studies. For more information, please contact your adviser, the English department or send an email to

Student Organization Leadership Summit 2017

The Leadership Summit provides a gathering space for students from a variety of organizations to develop skills, build connections and learn how to lead effectively. This year's summit will focus on the following areas: officer transition, event planning, fundraising, effective communication and delegation, as well as many other engaging topics. The event will motivate and inspire student leaders and allow them to share best practices for a successful academic year.

Annual AIDS Walk Colorado

Looking for a way to give back to your community?  Looking to get involved?  You're in luck!!

The LGBTQ Student Resource Center is again participating in the Annual AIDS Walk Colorado, which will be held on Saturday, August 20.  We are looking for members of the Auraria community, as well as friends and families, to join our team and help us raise funds to eradicate this disease!
